Please join us and be part of ICAN, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning network that is changing history with the 2017 Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (‘Nuclear Ban Treaty’).
This new Treaty gives us an unprecedented opportunity to stop this horrifying and preposterous threat to our people and planet. The US boycotted the treaty negotiations, but, like those who are implementing the Paris Climate Accords across the country, we aren’t waiting for the federal government to do the right thing.
NuclearBan.US is coordinating the Treaty Compliance Campaign in the US, but we know very well we cannot make this happen by ourselves. Sister organizations across the country, both large and small, are invited to be part of the campaign by signing up as ‘campaign partners’.
Campaign Partners agree to:
- become Treaty Aligned as an organization (which in most cases you already are!)
- encourage your members to become personally Treaty Aligned
- commit to working on at least one other organization, and/or your town or city, and/or your state, to become Treaty Aligned
- assign someone from your group to be the ‘link person’ for this campaign and to attend occasional conference calls to discuss strategy and progress with other campaign partners
- share information about what you are doing in support of Treaty Alignment with other campaign partners
In return, NuclearBan.US agrees to:
- keep you informed and updated about the campaign
- provide you with campaign materials, including sample letters and contact details for all the companies involved in the nuclear weapons business
- offer expert and engaging speakers and interactive workshops to promote the campaign in your area
- share information about your activities in relation to this campaign on our website, social media and other materials
- link you up with ICAN globally and with the countries signing and ratifying the Nuclear Ban Treaty
